Summer Junior Lacrosse Circuit
The Chicago Portagers, Madison Milkmen, and Iowa Dogfish are pleased to announce an official partnership to grow the discipline of box lacrosse in the Midwest through the introduction of a Junior Lacrosse Circuit. Intended to sharpen or introduce box lacrosse skills for experienced lacrosse players ages 18-23, this circuit will bring organized Junior lacrosse to the area for the first time.
The circuit structure will begin in early June with a combine held in Chicago for player evaluations. We expect all experienced players will earn a roster spot with newly formed teams determined by a dispersal draft. Two instructional practices available in all three markets will then be followed by 6 games over 3 weekends and the season concluded by a championship weekend in mid July. Participation in this circuit also makes a player eligible to practice with and earn a roster position with any of the Senior A teams should a spot become available. The Senior season is expected to run from the end of June through Labor Day weekend.
Registered players will receive a shooter shirt, jersey, Senior A season tickets, and access to box lacrosse gear discounts. The cost of this gear, practices, and game play will run an expected $225 – $275 depending on number of players per team. Statistics and game coverage will be provided by The Box Lacrosse Channel on their website, Android, iOS, and through Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV, and other smart television application stores.
Interested participants need only fill out this player form for now and are encouraged to spread the word to others meeting the age eligibility. Further details will be released in time to the contact information provided through the player form.
